'It was a dark and stormy night.. '
(I don't actually know if it was stormy, but it somehow sounds better. It was definitely dark though)
...when it all began 2.5 decades ago in Sweden, with yours truly happily entering the world, wailing for attention and wanting to go to sleep (if you know me well enough, you'd know that nothing much has changed :D). Six years later, life moved to Sri Lanka. And six years ago, it shifted to Singapore.
How this blog came about is a different story altogether- a weird mix of peer pressure (yes, everyone cool had a blog back then), a dare to self and a space to vent and ramble sort of resulted in what is now a haphazard collection of thoughts, rants, musings and opinions- organised chaos, I like to call it. How I've managed to maintain it and keep it going all this time is just beyond me- one of those inexplicable events in life I suppose, like UFOs, or the Loch Ness monster.
Where am I going with this? I have no clue really. I guess sharing and documenting tidbits of my existence saves the memories for later, either to fondly look back upon or vaguely recall with utter horror and disbelief.. Either way, I'd like to check on myself a few years from now and see how I have (or haven't) grown. The other side to it is for the nearest and dearest to keep tabs on me from wherever they are in the world, because I suck at keeping in touch via email and letters (in this day and age?!) and phone calls. And also because I need a place to write down the random conversations I'd otherwise be having with myself, and any possibly brilliant ideas/theories that would otherwise be lost forever.. *insert dramatic pause*
